Domaine Long Pre

We were here with our school for a work week, and luckily didn't run into the bad smells or other issues I had read about. But the sofa gave way when my friend and I sat on it. The boards fell out underneath, though they didn't snap in half, and plastic inserts let us put it back together. The shower worked normally once on, but the controls were strange and we couldn't turn it off for 20 minutes, so everything got wet. Apart from that, things were fine.

The location and family amenities are lovely, and the staff were friendly. We had a good time, but our apartment was very dusty and the sofas and beds were uncomfortable. There was a pill left by another guest that luckily my toddler daughter didn't swallow, and a pillowcase had also been left behind. The management and cleaning staff seem to pay too little attention to room quality. I was shocked to find that towels and bed sheets weren't included in the booking.

We liked the place overall and would definitely come back. It's in a beautiful forest beside a river, with a peaceful feel, lots of hikes, and villages nearby for groceries or visits. We were four in one of the spacious apartments, with two rooms, a bath, and a fairly well-equipped kitchen for cooking. The bath wasn't usable because there wasn't enough hot water to fill it. The temperature also swung from cold to boiling in a second without moving the tap. One bedroom had forest-facing windows; the other was unfortunately tiny, poorly ventilated, and had only a small window facing the parking lot, with almost no daylight. It was fine just for sleeping. Cleanliness was acceptable but not great, and towels and bed sheets cost too much per person.

The scenery and location were awesome, though of course that's God's work, not the resort's. Our apartment smelled of mold and felt low quality. Coming from the US, I was surprised to pay for a pair of clean towels at the pool and still not have clean bed sheets in our unit.
