The praise seemed a little over the top to me, though I can see why people like stopping here. We popped in for a bathroom break and coffee. The coffee was good, the cake decent, and service was okay. The restrooms are tucked well away in the basement.

It works well for a coffee stop if you're cycling nearby, and there's a cycling clothing shop alongside the nice, pricey cafeteria. Staying overnight is another matter: the rooms feel like youth hostel quality with basic furniture and shared toilets, despite hotel prices. The cafeteria shuts at 6pm, and there isn't even a shared room to relax in afterward.

The place was clean and the service was good. We had lunch, and both the yoghurt and the chicken with a bagel were great.

The place has a really comfy, warm feel, and the clothing shop adds to it. We stopped in twice for coffee and pastries, and every pastry was amazing. There's a great selection of tea too, and the hot chocolate was delicious. If you're nearby, I'd definitely recommend it. Best around!

After tackling the local hills, with my legs feeling like jelly, I went for the Royal Bagel and a refreshing Fritz-kola. The bagel was sliced and toasted until crunchy, spread on both sides with a savory red paprika paste, then loaded with plenty of avocado and fragrant grilled chicken. It came with a fresh side salad, a wholesome post-ride bite. I still wanted something sweet, so I added a rice tart slice and a flat white. The slice had plenty of flavor and was firm like it should be, with the fork ostentatiously sticking out of it. My flat white was creamy and milky, with lovely latte art. Le Coffee Ride certainly lives up to its name. I'd passed Le Coffee Ride many times just before the climb up Thier de Coo, but kept going since I didn't fancy taking on those 16% slopes with cold legs and a full stomach. On my last ride I drove to the bar and set off from there. Lots of other people had the same idea. On a sunny day the terrace is a wonderful place for cycling fans to listen to DT Swiss freehubs screaming.
