Hotel Auberge van Strombeek

This place was filthy, broken, and felt like a health and safety hazard everywhere. There were exposed electrical wires, missing floor tiles and parts of the ceiling, plus sharp metal sticking out of one wall. The toilet leaked onto the floor, my pillow had no cover and had brown stains, and the rooms smelled horrible. There were dead bugs on the window sills too. It was very overpriced. I can't understand how it's still operating. Avoid it, especially if you care about your family’s safety.

I only stayed one night, and even the low price felt like too much. The TV connection was bad and there was no remote. I had to ask for hot water for the shower, but later that evening the water was cold again. The service and facilities felt shaped by Brussels' business-oriented attitude. Sorry, host, but the facilities need some attention. I wouldn't recommend it.

I checked in, saw the filthy condition, broken walls, and awful smell, then checked right back out. I went to the Ibis next door instead, and it felt like a five-star deluxe hotel by comparison. This was the worst hotel I've ever been to. I'd rather sleep outside. Do not book.

The beds were basically one mattress on top of another, and that was about it. The walls looked ready to fall in, as did the closet. The room was never clean, and even the sheets were dirty whenever they changed the bed.
