The hotel is pleasant, and the location works perfectly for a visit to Tongeren. The voucher situation, though, was frustrating. We had booked and paid in advance, and although we mentioned our limburgcheque during the reservation, the hotel wouldn't accept it. They also apparently couldn't refund the payment so we could pay with the voucher instead. Their website should say that voucher bookings need to be arranged by phone.

The hotel sits right in central Tongeren, next to the antique market, so it's handy for seeing both the city and the market. Our room was clean and luxurious, but there was an unpleasant smell in the shower. Maybe it was because the room hadn't been used for a while during covid? At check-in we got a very friendly welcome and were offered bubbles. We don't drink alcohol, and they readily brought us something non-alcoholic instead. Breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from, and cava was available there too.

The room was spacious, with a large tub in the middle, and the hotel is conveniently placed downtown. The staff were courteous and helpful with information about the city, and it was good value for the location. But the door felt paper-thin, so we heard everyone passing by. The steady turnover of guests also shows in the carpets, walls, and beds.

Set in a renovated old monastery, this is a lovely, spacious hotel with large, comfortable rooms and modern decor. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. It's in a top location, with free parking about a five-minute walk away, and breakfast was good.
