Corsendonk Turnova

Right in the city center, and there's a gym you can use at the shopping mall about 100m away. Breakfast was lovely, especially the honey, which is some of the best I've ever had.

We got in late and had an early departure, so we couldn't try the saunas or spa. The staff kindly had breakfast packed and waiting for us at checkout, even though breakfast started after we were leaving. They were polite and really helpful throughout. The hotel has no parking of its own, but a large multi-storey car park is very close and costs 12€ per day. It's in the city center next to the cathedral, where the Christmas stalls were still up and added a nice atmosphere. The rooms are large and have everything you need, including a stocked fridge, and the spacious bathroom was a welcome change from the cramped ones I've had elsewhere. Dogs are welcome for an extra fee. We'd definitely stay again.

The spa area is small but well maintained, with two saunas and a great shower walk with different streams, temperatures, and scents. Our room was bright and clean, and the hotel is right on the main square. There's a public parking garage nearby for 12€ a day. We came for a spa weekend, but there was no pool, fitness room, or steam sauna, which I'd expect from a four-star hotel. Staff were polite, though not especially attentive or available. Breakfast had no proper hot options: the powdered scrambled eggs and bacon were cold, later arrivals found items unreplenished, and the kitchen wouldn't make eggs sunny-side up. The hotel uses an outside masseur, but despite asking a few days ahead, we couldn't get massages. The massage room was empty, so it would be helpful if they worked with more masseurs instead of turning requests away. Nice place for business or sightseeing, but I wouldn't choose it for a spa stay.

The staff were welcoming from the start, and check-in was quick and easy. They also went out of their way to help and gave me good suggestions for nearby restaurants and attractions. The location was convenient, with public transport and plenty of places nearby. I slept well every night in a clean, comfortable room with a cozy bed and all the basics. The bathroom was spotless and had good toiletries. I made use of the well-equipped fitness center, and breakfast was included, with a nice range of fresh, tasty choices each morning. I had a great stay.
