We had read the reviews and arrived prepared, but we never expected an experience this awful. The worst part was the condition of the bedding. The blankets on arrival were brown, reddish and yellowish, with mold and yellow stains covering the pillows. It was some of the dirtiest bedding I’ve ever seen, and we didn’t feel it met basic hygiene standards. One of my colleagues even pointed out a constant moldy smell when we arrived. There was mold in corners from floor to ceiling, especially around the refrigerator. Inside, spiderwebs were everywhere: in corners, behind the TV, under the bed, and stretching from the ceiling down to the beds. There were spiders and cocoons throughout the place. We had to shower with spiders around, and once we woke up with one under the covers. Insects had left visible trails of droppings along the inside walls. Being near the forest may explain the many insects, worms, beetles and grasshoppers that got in, but we found slugs in the house every day, on blankets, toilet paper, in the toilet and beside the bed. There were also dog droppings outside near the entrance and wooden terrace. While we were there, we noticed the differential switch light was broken. The oven was heavily encrusted and streaked with dirt, and a plastic spoon had melted in the heat and was left with yellow crusts. One of my roommates took a mint from inside the apartment. They charge a mandatory final cleaning fee of 30 euros per hour. In our view, even a week of bleach cleaning before we arrived would not have changed the state of the place. We didn’t dare buy a UV torch, but feel this place deserves an inspection by a public body. After three weeks, we got only €850 of our €1,000 deposit back. They deducted money for energy use, even though it was summer and we were out working every day, and for cleaning the blankets. The blankets weren’t thrown away, just washed, and are now ready for the next tourists.

Bad place. Not nice, and the rules are stupid.
