The heated pool sits in a big grassy area, and there’s a tennis court too. We ate well at the restaurant and enjoyed the nice bars. The place is unpretentious and good value, and the owners are super kind. It looks much nicer than the unwelcoming view from the road when you first arrive in the parking lot.

Getting to the hotel from the Vennbahn route means tackling a steep hill with no bike path or even a proper place for pedestrians. Cars come close and drive fast and aggressively. That’s unacceptable, and it’s sad that nobody seems to walk or cycle in this village. The rooms are standard, the service was fine, and the place feels very old-fashioned. I also found it really overpriced. I don’t think we’ll stop in Waimes again.

Gino and Nadia are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home right away. We had a lovely stay in a nice place that isn’t too fancy. The kitchen was very good too, with tasty food that didn’t feel pretentious. We should visit them again soon. :)
