Ravel Etape "En Chanteraine"

The large terrace on the garden side was useful, and the house is within walking distance of a bakery, butcher and playground. The garden was left natural, with the lawn unmown. Hedge trimming started during our stay and was annoying, though the gardener stopped when we asked so we could enjoy the house and garden in peace. The pool was great, and the small sauna was nice. There were plenty of showers throughout the house, but the beds had very soft mattresses. The ground floor felt worn and dated, like the 90s. The kitchen was okay and had a large fridge, freezer and separate sink, but the oven couldn’t be used because basic cleaning seemed to have been missed. The equipment is old, and we couldn’t find any sharp knives. That needs attention. We could hear music from the restaurant and garden bar across the road until around 11:30 p.m., which was just tolerable. More bothersome were the trucks and heavy tractors on the road, only 4 meters away. From nearly 6:00 a.m. they were hauling stones and debris, braking sharply just before the speed bump at the pedestrian crossing and then accelerating again. Also, we thought the edges around the pool were too sharp and could cause injury.
