Domaine du Blé Hôtel

I've never felt so unwelcome at a hotel. We checked in and checked out within an hour. A nightclub right next door played loud music until morning, and there were no soundproof walls. Security felt excessive and concerning, with someone watching every move. We weren't given keycards, so each time we needed to get into our rooms, we had to ask the security guard at reception to open the door. He's the only one with access, which felt creepy. They also photocopy your Passport instead of just checking your identity. The rooms were disturbing. The lighting was dark, more like a prison than a hotel room, and the beds were hard, like lying on plastic. The floor hadn't been cleaned, with crumbs everywhere, including under the bed. There was mold behind the toilet and, worst of all, BLOOD ON THE MATTRESS. Ewww. STAY AWAY!!!

The reception visit ended badly, but the trouble started earlier: after my daughter left her doll at the hotel, we had to call several times before it was found. We asked if it could be posted to us and were told that was absolutely impossible, so I went to collect it myself. We reached the hotel at 20:15 on August 11 after a five-hour drive, only to find a young receptionist who spoke neither English nor Dutch and told us to use French. We had to rely on Google Translate. She never handed over the doll or offered help, and just kept texting on her phone. We drove all that way for nothing, and I was really disappointed by the lack of care. The breakfast also didn't suit me at all, and the rooms were very dark.

We paid €90 for entry for five, yet were told to leave after arriving late. There were also extra charges for the glasses, and we were charged for entry twice in cash because the hostess and security apparently hadn't communicated. The service and management were poor. One of our friends was clearly profiled and faced abusive treatment and really bad language from security. The head of security later admitted they'd made mistakes and offered me a drink next time, which only made it clearer they knew they'd done something wrong.

It's very quiet here, and Walibi is only about five minutes away by car, which worked well for us. We felt welcome at check-in, and the service was good. The rooms are dark, though. A nice hotel for a short stay.
