Radisson Collection The National Hotel, Brussels

The bed was so comfortable that we slept in on our first morning, even though we never skip hotel breakfast. The breakfast spread had lots of fresh, tasty choices, and nothing seemed to be missing. Coffee was delicious too, which made this coffee enthusiast very happy. Bravo to the kitchen! Housekeeping kept our rooms lovely every day, fluffing up the bed, leaving fresh water and refills, and bringing perfect fresh towels. The interior of both the rooms and Stoke was breathtaking. Reception was seamless and impeccable; there was a room mixup at first, but it was sorted within minutes. Huge thanks to Jack. Everything was really perfect, and everyone at the Radisson team helped make our holiday unforgettable.

The rooms feel spacious, and the beds are the sort you might not want to get out of. There’s a good grill restaurant inside and a bar that makes a proper cocktail. The young staff are efficient and eager to help, already doing a good job and likely to get even better. Zaventem airport is very close, which makes travel easy. This hotel completes a huge project that turned an old hippodrome into a residential and golf area, and the transformation has been done beautifully. Everything has that new hotel feel, with lots of attention to detail. The value for the price is hard to beat right now. I’d visit soon, though, as I expect rates to rise when spring arrives and golfers come back to the greens. Try it before the secret gets out!

I spent a few nights here and was really impressed by the staff, the service, and the location. Everything felt fresh and well cared for, with attention to detail throughout. The room was spotless, and access to the D. lloyds gym was a nice extra. Breakfast and dinner were great. Special thanks to the Front desk team! I’ll be back for sure.

Alba and Alex at reception were professional and responsive, and the only bright spot in my stay. The room situation raised concerns about housekeeping and maintenance: I was first given a room that had already been used and smelled strongly of cigarettes. In another room, there were insects and the air conditioning didn’t work. There was also a strong unpleasant smell throughout the hallways leading to guest rooms. Management confirmed they knew about it, but guests weren’t told beforehand, and the ongoing construction to address it hadn’t been disclosed before check-in. I only got acknowledgment after I brought it up. The hotel seemed severely understaffed from the start. Two receptionists were handling all guest needs, which meant delays and a lack of basic service. There was no bell service or staff to guide guests, and the confusing layout was unnecessarily difficult to navigate without help. Management’s response was disappointing, and the online reviews are misleading. This fell far below the Radisson Collection standard. The gap between its advertised five-star experience and the actual service and quality was significant and unacceptable. I don’t recommend it, especially for Radisson Rewards members.
