Hotel Taormina Brussels Airport

I'm posting this here because I can't leave a review on Booking. I want to explain what I see as a scam and unethical conduct. I made an urgent reservation but accidentally chose the following weekend. I needed a room that same night, so I asked if they could move the booking to the current night. They told me not to book again through Booking, but to reserve directly with them instead, at a higher price than Booking showed for that night. They said they would cancel the Booking reservation the next day. I followed their instructions and paid them for the night. The next day, they refused to cancel the original reservation and pressured me to pay half the room price separately, or they wouldn't cancel it. I ended up paying directly for the night I stayed and half the cost of another night just to get the mistaken reservation cancelled, after they'd assured me it wouldn't be a problem. This was coercive and disgraceful. If this is how they do business, it's unethical at the very least and potentially criminal.

The food was delicious and well prepared at both restaurants, Taormina and chilly's. The rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained, with excellent hygiene standards. Staff were polite and always ready to help, which made the stay comfortable.

I had a lot of luggage because I'm moving to Belgium, and they kindly let me leave it at the hotel after checkout while I looked for somewhere to live. I stayed a couple of nights, and everyone was helpful and very kind. The rooms were clean, and I had no concerns. Thanks so much to everyone there.

We arrived at 11:30 p.m. to check in and were told breakfast ran from 7:00 to 10:00, with checkout at 11:00. But when we went down at 9:01, the person there said breakfast was over. We managed to get them to let us eat, but they were rude about it and only brought out a small part of the breakfast. When we asked for eggs, they said no. They also said they'd called a colleague, who supposedly denied telling us breakfast ended at 10:00. It was unbelievable. We were one minute past the stated end time and treated as if we were lying, when all we wanted was coffee and a bite to eat. What if we'd gone downstairs two minutes earlier? To be fair, the hotel itself is fine, just a simple place for a night near the airport.
