We paid in advance through Hotel.com and arrived with our receipt, but the owner refused to let us stay, saying Hotel.com was a fake Chinese agency. Then they wouldn’t answer the door, leaving us to find somewhere else in a remote area. When we contacted Hotel.com, we were told they couldn’t reach the property owner. In response to the owner: we tried to show you the booking confirmation and explain, but you ignored us and didn’t answer the doorbell. Expedia and Hotel.com had merged into one company, and you should have known that. They tried to contact you after we called, but again you didn’t respond. You were the rudest owner we’ve ever dealt with. I stand by this review and want to warn other guests.

We stayed three days in April 2014 and plan to return in a few years. The rooms were tidy and nicely presented, the hosts welcoming, and the location superb for touring the surrounding memorial sites. I’ll stay here again.

The couple made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fresh and nice, and the location worked well for WW1 tours.

The owners were lovely and friendly, and the breakfast was tasty and fresh. They were also very helpful with ideas for places to visit. Perfectly located for touring Ypres.

The hosts were happy to share information about the area and made sure we had a wonderful holiday. Our rooms were clean and lovely, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Bellewaerde amusement park and the memorials connected with the battles around Flanders Fields, Passiondeal, Ypres and Zonnebeke are within walking distance, or easy to reach by bike or car. For a real holiday experience, this is the place.
