The rooftop is a lovely spot for a first sundowner, and breakfast is served up there too. Giuliana is a friendly, helpful owner, and the rooms have nice decor amid all the West African sculpture, the kind you might come across again as you travel through Burkina Faso and nearby countries. Some rooms have very small bathrooms, which can make showering awkward. It's a little way from the city centre, though handy if you're taking one of the major bus lines south or southwest.

I spent a week at Giuliana’s and found it a welcoming place, with a safe neighbourhood and staff happy to help with whatever you need. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast is lovely. I'd recommend it whether you're visiting Ouaga for a short stay or a longer one.

It's small, but really classy, with beautiful artwork tucked into every corner, and I was surprised by how affordable it was. This is the best hotel I've stayed in since my time in Bali, Indonesia. I'd definitely come back.

The hotel has impressive artwork throughout, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's relaxed here, and very good value for money.
