The resort itself is lovely, and nearby hotels show what real class can be. The beach is better than the ones in Dubai, in my opinion. During my few days here, the food and panorama were the only good parts. After 40 years, the hotel still seems unfamiliar with renovation or redecorating. The equipment is poor, and the decor is worse. What a pity.

The restaurant may be the best in all of Albena: breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the service there was good too. The reception needs to improve how it handles guests. Our room wasn't very clean and definitely needs renovation. Some lights were broken, which I don't think is safe for kids.

What a terrible socialist mess. The hotel isn't operating, apart from the swimming pools. Somehow I was able to reserve at the candy shop on the hotel roof. We came all the way from Varna, only to find that nothing there was working.

The breakfast buffet included in the room price was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is right in the middle of the Albena resort area, close to beaches, shops, clubs, and everything else, and the rates are very cheap. The rooms are dark and dingy, though that didn't bother me much. The beds were basic but comfortable. The real problem was the heat: there was no air conditioning. Even with the one large window open, we got no breeze, and outside noise kept waking me up. You do get what you pay for.

Most rooms have a nice view, and that's about the only good thing. It looks like the place hasn't been renovated in nearly 40 years. There was no air conditioning, internet was only available in the lobby, and there were cockroaches. The price may be low, but you can find much better places for the same money.
