Andy was a great host and could arrange everything you need for a ski holiday. He was also the man to see if you fancied a pint. The location was great, just a 3-minute walk to the gondola, with pubs, restaurants, ski hire shops, and even supermarkets nearby. Handy if you have young kids and want to cater for yourself. The location is good, which is why I'm giving 2 stars. Customer service at the Aspen was very poor. The front desk staff looked like they'd rather be somewhere else and weren't helpful. Our room was dusty, the cupboards were hanging off, and the sofa was covered in hair from previous guests and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in ages. There were no plates or cutlery in the cupboards either, so we couldn't have food or drinks in the room. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The restaurant food was okay and prices were moderate, but it took a long time to arrive, and some portions were really small. The only large beer was draft, and it was undrinkable. Parking was difficult, especially at weekends. Over three days, we saw only 3-4 staff in the whole understaffed complex, covering reception, the restaurant, and everything else. The outdoor pool was small and completely uncontrolled. Kids kept jumping in, adults played volleyball, and it was hard to swim or relax without getting into a conflict with other guests. The steam bath wasn't working, and saunas were available on request. There is a large, well-kept indoor garden that keeps the complex cool in summer. The place was clean, and when it's quiet, it could be a nice place to rest. This review is only about the restaurant and spa, not the accommodation.

The room was filthy with dust and mold, cracked walls, and broken plugs. It felt dangerous to stay in, especially with a child. Cleaning was a joke: they barely made the bed, left the rest of the room dirty, and provided no fresh towels or sheets. The staff were extremely unfriendly and didn't speak any English at all. I don't know where to begin. It couldn't have been worse.
