Maraya Hotel Bansko

The breakfast was very basic, nothing special, and didn't start until 8. If you want to get in line early for the gondola before skiing, you'd have to miss it. Communication was difficult because the staff didn't speak English. The rooms were basic and housekeeping did the bare minimum. We asked for extra towels for the pool, but they wouldn't provide any. They said we had to buy robes at reception or use the room towels instead. There was no shower curtain or glass panel in the bathroom, so water got everywhere. We had to explain the problem before they gave us towels to walk on in the wet bathroom.

The hotel and room were nice, but the Wi-Fi didn't work in the room. It also felt too far away.

The breakfast had no variety and was very poor. We were also put in a different apartment from the one in the pictures, and I definitely wouldn't return. There wasn't a single cup, the shower didn't work, and there were no spa robes. We couldn't use the terrace because the roof was only a metre above the floor. The whole thing felt like a complete scam.

We're leaving tomorrow, and this hotel has left my family and me completely frustrated during our holiday. We booked one of the supposed suites, but although the room was large, it was mostly empty and impractical for four people. It lacked basic things: no towel hangers in the bathroom, no refrigerator, and only one tiny closet by the entrance that could barely hold our coats. A second small closet would've helped. We were on the third floor, and the elevator didn't reach it. We had to carry our heavy bags up ourselves and use the whole staircase every time we went anywhere. I've never dealt with that at a hotel, not even the cheapest ones. Thanks for the expensive leg workout, I guess. The food was another letdown. Breakfast and dinner were decent at best and not worth what they cost. Our room wasn't cleaned unless we asked, and they didn't replace towels or bring soap. After we'd used the same towels for three days, we asked for fresh ones. They said there was a problem with the cleaners and the whole hotel had run out of clean towels. Some of the power outlets didn't work either, and the internet was extremely bad. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, especially at its price. Maybe it should switch to being a cheap motel, then it might deserve the five stars. Thanks to anyone who read this.
