Perun Lodge Apartment

Our group had more than 60 people, and everyone was extremely satisfied. The halal food options were a pleasant surprise, with plenty of delicious dishes to choose from. The rooms were warm, clean, and comfortable, and the spa was fantastic. After a long day, the pool's perfectly warm water was ideal for relaxing. The hotel is close to the gondola and only a few minutes' walk from the town center and promenade. Staff were kind, professional, and always ready to help. We've been coming for over 15 years and honestly haven't found friendlier hotel staff anywhere. We'd happily recommend it and look forward to coming back.

The location is the one thing this hotel really has going for it. We didn't check the reviews before booking, and that's on us. It's apparently been one of the best hotels in the past, but I think it got left behind. We're staying in an apartment, and the rooms and furniture are old and outdated. There were only two glasses and two cups, no other utensils. The beds are uncomfortable, cleanliness is mediocre, and the bedrooms have no nightstands. We got one towel each, with no hand or head towels. The spa is okay, but badly needs renovating. This place is in desperate need of renovation. There are plenty of reviews saying the same thing. The hotel has a lot of capacity to be great, but management needs to act or the facility will keep going downhill. I don't know who owns or manages it, or whether they care that it's slowly but surely closing down.

The pool and sauna were good, and breakfast was decent. But it only starts at 7.30, so we missed it a few times while queuing early for the gondola. Chris at reception and the young woman at the SPA were the only staff who seemed to know customer service. The others were shockingly rude. A bar worker even tried to charge me 50c extra for paying cash. When she realized she didn't have change, she put it through the till for the correct amount, then said something quickly in Bulgarian to a colleague who wouldn't even answer “good morning,” and giggled. No shame. The place is run down: damaged furniture, trip hazards, metal sticking out, faulty items, and no equipment at all in the kitchenette. Soap holders were empty, cigarette smoke lingered in the corridor, and loud noises came through the door while we slept. Three stars is what the hotel should be rated, and that's generous. Never again.

The toilet and sleeping room were dirty, and the bed was very uncomfortable. I wasn't satisfied with this four-star hotel. There was no ski rental, so we had to go across to hotel Platinum, where we rented equipment and booked lessons at very favorable prices.
