Chamkoria Chalets

The staff are extremely nice and helpful, and it’s a big plus that they accept dogs. The place is tucked away in a lovely forest area, so it’s really quiet and good for resting. That seclusion also means it takes about a 15-minute drive to get to Borovetz.

The location is spacious and very quiet, and the rooms and chalet were fine. Communication with the owner was great, and the staff were friendly. They offered a sauna and thermal pool at the chalets, and shuttle buses to Borovet's village ran every few hours. The sauna only started working after the second day, though. We arrived very late because of our flights, with no shop nearby and not even a small bottle of water available. For nine people over five days, the few toilet rolls provided weren’t enough. The only basic supplies were salt and nylon bags. The chalet didn’t feel especially cozy, and breakfast wasn’t worth what we paid, 7.5€ per person, as it wasn’t really good quality. I’d choose this place again for a vacation with a big family and a large house, hopefully with more communication about everything.

We had a small electricity problem on the first evening, and the staff responded quickly and were eager to fix it. They were helpful and informative throughout, with a pleasant attitude, and never intrusive. The apartment had what we needed, from cooking utensils, towels and bedding to a ski equipment wardrobe, plus a nice little spa. After skiing, we especially enjoyed the sauna, which was included in the price and working. That made it good value. At first we worried that the distance might be an issue, but it worked well for us. For a great price, we got peace and comfort in peak season, when Borovets can be overcrowded. We drove to the slopes at first, then used their transportation, which was excellent. After skiing, it was especially helpful to have someone take our equipment and drive us to the door. On drives through the forest we saw two beautiful deer, a fox and squirrels. The kids loved seeing them in their natural habitat. We’re looking forward to coming back next summer and winter.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the chalet was cozy and spacious. There’s a really nice spa too. You can get into Borovets easily by taxi, and shuttle buses run during the day. We’ll be back.
