Sinabovite Houses

The kitchen was great, everything tasted delicious. Still, if the staff had been friendlier, this could have been the best guest house. I can’t shake the feeling that I was treated like an intruder on private property. Such a pity.

The staff were top notch, and the food and wine were awesome. It’s a new facility, and it felt like Bulgaria’s best-kept secret to me. The food alone makes the trip worthwhile!

The restaurant food is really delicious, and there’s even a tennis court on site. The facilities are well maintained, with clean, spacious rooms. The restaurant waiter wasn’t polite, though, and management should address that.

We left with mixed, very unpleasant feelings, and can’t recommend visiting, especially in winter or snowy weather. With this management, I suspect summer might not be much better either. Our group of 11 friends stayed at Sinabovite Houses for three days around New Year 2020. The package cost 330 lv. per person for a couple sharing a double room, or 420 lv. for one person in a double room. It included breakfasts, two dinners, and the New Year dinner. The buildings were very nice, the rooms clean, the food very good to excellent, and the staff kind. The problem was the management, particularly the owner’s wife. Roads to the parking areas and stairways between buildings weren’t clearly marked, and they were covered with snow and ice. The rules about what we could bring into the restaurant, especially around New Year, weren’t clear. They charged an extremely high, unannounced “fuse” fee for bringing an extra bottle of alcohol into the restaurant, which is a traditional thing to do at New Year celebrations. There were also fees for every facility in the hotel. This led to very unpleasant arguments with guests. I nearly injured my wrist falling on the icy stairs between the buildings. The “Manager” blamed it on alcohol, but the stairs were cleaned afterward. I also nearly crashed my car into the front house on the main road because the road at the hotel’s main entrance was extremely icy as I left the parking lot. They said clearing it wasn’t their problem or responsibility.
