Spa Complex Elena

We arrived in the late afternoon and found there was no proper car park, just public parking with no spaces available. After that, we had quite a few steps to climb while carrying our luggage. The spa facilities were okay, but the food was terrible. Dinner was a set menu and not enough for the boys, and breakfast was poor. If you weren’t there when the buffet opened, there was nothing left. Some staff were rude, so I can’t recommend the place. At least we found good places to eat and enjoy ourselves.

My wife and little boy were very happy with our weekend here. We had no problems, and the service was absolutely good. The food was delicious, too. Some people may find the hotel pool too small, but I thought it was fine. There’s also another pool you can use that isn’t at the hotel. Thank you, hotel Elena, for giving my family such an amazing experience!

Dinner was the low point. We arrived around 8:30, with service running until 9, and waited about ten minutes for a salad that was just four tomato pieces, four cucumber slices, two onion rings and a tiny bit of cheese. Then it took another ten minutes to get seasoning, and there wasn’t even salt on the table. Seating was limited, and we left before the main course. There was only one option, chicken steak with steamed vegetables, and it didn’t look appetizing. The music sounded like a Bulgarian nightclub at 4 a.m. as everyone was drunk and heading out. The receptionist with blonde hair was lovely and gave us helpful suggestions for a walk and things to do. The hotel is right in the city centre, so it was easy to find, and since it was Monday, parking wasn’t hard to come by. Our room was nice, with a big bed and amazing pillows, though there was some dust on the surfaces. The spa has three kinds of sauna. The pool was warm but rather small, the steam bath wasn’t working, and the jacuzzi didn’t feel like a jacuzzi. Breakfast was good, I guess, though barely anything was left forty minutes before it was meant to end. The location is nice, the price is okay, and having the spa there is convenient. I’d recommend a stay, but I wouldn’t buy the package with lunch and dinner. There are plenty of local places to eat, and that meal wasn’t worth it. 3.8/5

The spa is tiny, and equipment was out of order much of the time. The facilities in general look old and neglected, nothing like the photos in the ads. The food was awful enough that we chose to eat elsewhere after trying it. The service was very poor. If you want a good vacation, save your money and stay somewhere else.
