Kashta Peychevi

We spent three nights in the area, and Kashta Peychevi gets our highest rating. The meals were amazing, delicious and creative, with great choices for people who eat meat and those who don’t. Every transfer was on time. The couple running the accommodation and their son were extremely helpful and did everything they could to make our visit to the Rila mountains perfect.

The host was super friendly and even speaks a little German. She made us breakfast too. The guest house is very nice and I can recommend it. The rooms have somewhat thin walls, and the bed was a bit short, but it was still totally fine.

I wouldn’t recommend this house for a get-together with friends or family. When booking, we were told we could rent the whole house and use the dining hall as a common space throughout our stay. Instead, it was only open for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. With no other shared area, we were stuck in our rooms all day and our weekend was ruined. The host wasn’t clear about the house rules when we booked. Although he said we’d have the whole house and dining hall to ourselves for the entire stay, he wouldn’t let us use the hall whenever we wanted. When we tried to explain the difference between what we’d agreed and what was happening, he denied it and made us leave because he didn’t want us using the only common space. Instead of playing board games and enjoying a weekend with family and friends, we had to stay in our rooms all day. We were forced to leave a day early and didn’t get any compensation.

The rooms are spacious, and the bed is comfortable. The host is very polite. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.
