Set up like a little museum, the house has old Bulgarian furniture and tools, which gives it a cozy, romantic feel. It's very quiet and clean, and the owner was kind and shared useful information about the area. The house sits at the upper end of Kalofer, beside the monastery, with an amazing view. There's a fully equipped kitchen for making your own food, plus an automatic coffee machine if you haven't brought coffee.

The host was so kind and easygoing. He picked me up on the way from the station into the village, then drove me to the hike's starting point toward Peak Botev / Rai Hut the next morning. I had a great stay in this pretty, very clean guesthouse, with a spacious room that even had a couch. Really grateful for the whole experience, 10/10 🤗!

We'd talked by phone before booking about our group of students celebrating a student fest, a birthday, and a name day. But after we'd booked, each new contact brought more restrictions. Just an hour after we arrived, the host repeatedly threatened to throw us out and wouldn't refund the two nights we'd booked. We eventually worked something out and were allowed to stay, but he was unpleasant throughout. Such a shame, because the house is clean. Booking here could ruin your holiday or celebration.

The host was excellent, and communication was quick and easy. Iliikova house has a lovely view and is in a peaceful spot, though not far from the town centre. The Maiden’s monastery is nearby and has a lot of historical value.

The owner was welcoming and available, and helped us sort out our trekking plans. We only spent one night in this beautiful, quiet, clean house, though I wish we'd stayed for the whole trip. The view over the valley and Mt Botev was amazing. Highly recommended!
