Presidium Palace

The receptionist called our room at 11:20 pm and spoke in another language. I said I couldn't understand, and she hung up. Earlier, I'd gone downstairs to ask for a clean room because ours was so dirty and smelly, worse than any room I'd ever seen. But it was impossible to get through to the receptionist in English. She just said the rooms were old. I asked for the manager and was given a phone number, but couldn't call until the next day because he wasn't available in the evening. Staying here was hardly a pleasure, and this hotel has nothing to do with 4 stars. I don't recommend it.

For a business trip, this hotel is a good choice. The rooms are very spacious, and it has useful extras like a hair salon and souvenir shop. Breakfast could be improved with more variety. Bulgarian cuisine gives them plenty of options to broaden the morning menu.

The city is well placed for getting to shops and restaurants. I was here for business meetings, and check-in and check-out were both easy. My room was clean but very old-fashioned, with some damage to the table and other furniture. Breakfast was okay, though the choices were limited. The elevator wasn't working, which turned out to be good for my fitness.

The staff were great. The lady on the night shift at reception is a superstar. I'll definitely come back.
