Cantilena Hotel

I’m reviewing this as a walk-in restaurant. Despite the season having been underway for a few weeks, most of the menu dishes weren’t available. There were no fish dishes at all, even though a sign outside said “fish dishes.” The waiters’ English was very poor. When they didn’t understand, they seemed to silently guess what you meant. Even the question “what is good in your menu” left one waiter struggling to answer.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and came here twice for meals. The food was amazing, full of flavour, and served in huge sharing portions. The second time we had 1600g of sharing meat 🍖 and veg, and needed to take some home. See th pics. Catilina looked after us so well, and her partner did a great job cooking. The homemade mango lemonade was brilliant. I think the mangos there may be what they use for the juice, as it was definitely real fruit. Good music and atmosphere, too. Thank you both for the great meals! ❤️

The staff were lovely, and when I mentioned a couple of things I wasn’t happy with, they gave us a fruit platter with compliments. There’s a nice little pool close to the beach. We had the apartment, which was great, and it sleeps four, though I think it would suit three better. It’s an ok hotel in a good location, but the housekeeping wasn’t good and breakfast wasn’t great. Those are things I expect.

We had dinner here and were asked to pay before the food arrived, before we’d even had our drinks. That was a first for me. It was an unpleasant experience overall, and I won’t be coming back.
