Hotel The White House

I was desperate for the toilet and went in, only to find the owner waiting outside, rudely demanding payment. I then realised it wasn't a free public toilet. I said I had no coins on me and would return with the money in a minute. He pointed aggressively at my wallet, so I repeated that I'd come back with my boyfriend. He mocked me by repeating what I'd said. It was a really unpleasant encounter. I don't see why people should be treated like that. If they want to avoid this kind of misunderstanding, they should take down the several large red "WC" signs on the street and treat people respectfully.

The staff were very friendly, and the location is handy for exploring the citadel on foot. There isn't any parking except the paid lot, a five-minute walk away, which costs 8 leva per day. If you've got a lot of luggage, ask reception for the special pass that lets you bring the car closer to the hotel to unload.

We stayed there last year and felt like part of the family. I'll always remember how much you helped us with the wedding. Thank you so much, you were a great hotel.

The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. The place is very nice, clean, and well situated.
