A fantastic, unbelievably good gastro experience. The restaurant has a large choice of traditional and special Bulgarian dishes, including rarities you can hardly find elsewhere, like chicken hearts and liver and lamb soup. The setting is very nice, and the service is kind and pleasant. Be prepared to wait for a table with so many people there, but it’s worth it.

We had three fabulous meals last night, along with four alcoholic drinks and two coffees, for 30 Euros. Such good value. Our waitress was lovely and attentive, and the food came within 10mins of ordering. We were too full for dessert, but the ones we saw looked delicious.
The garlic cheese bread was the best thing we tried, and my daughter’s schnitzel was okay. The cheese and jam came cold, the Bulgarian potato dish was very dry and tasted like a greasy pan, and my rump steak was just so-so. Prices are extremely low for the area, though, and the food wasn’t bad overall. We’d heard mixed things this year after friends recommended the restaurant last year. It was our first visit, during our fourth year in Bulgaria. There are no reservations, so we waited about 10 minutes for a table, which was manageable with the season nearly over. The table was very dirty. They changed the cloth when I asked, but the replacement wasn’t really clean either. The service felt neutral and not very attentive. The waitress kept asking if we were ready while we were still choosing from the huge menu, and the moussaka we wanted was sold out. It’s an okay place, but there are better options nearby. If you’re mainly after a very affordable meal, it’s a reasonable choice.
