Alua Helios Bay

There was plenty for the children to do, which made the holiday more enjoyable for all of us. We had a fantastic stay at Alua hotel. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable, and the food was delicious with lots of options. Highly recommended!

We went for 7 nights in early September and were lucky with the weather: sunny and 30 degrees each day, with only the odd windy evening. The sea was still warm. I also paid extra for a massage and was looked after really well. The hotel suits families or couples wanting a relaxing holiday without being up all night. It’s far enough from the parties and noise, though Burgas airport is a bit farther away than some hotels around Sunny Beach. The location otherwise worked very well for us. The entertainment team kept busy all day with activities for adults and kids, followed by a kids disco and other music in the evenings. Staff across housekeeping, dining, and entertainment were great. The hotel is modern and pretty clean, and rooms are cleaned daily if you request it. Food was fresh and tasty every day, and the drinks were decent. We had all-inclusive, as most guests seemed to, and were completely satisfied. It was a great family holiday, and I’d highly recommend the hotel for a nice place, good location, and a mix of family time and relaxation.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a good range of fresh fruit, pastries, and hot dishes, so there was something for everyone. The restaurant also serves European and local food, all fresh and nicely presented, in a cozy setting with high-standard service. We found the 4-star hotel well suited to both leisure and business trips. Our room was spacious, clean, and modern, and housekeeping came daily with regular towel and bed linen changes. Reception and restaurant staff were polite and ready to help. A very positive stay, highly recommended.

The only thing that bothered me was how many single-use plastic cups get used. I can see that reusable ones must be hard to manage with so many guests, and the towel card system is a clever idea. I was worried before arriving, but I’m currently on holiday here and really impressed. The room is nice and clean, with a large bed, spacious bathroom, and enough water pressure. The pool is just right for cooling off in the heat. With all-inclusive, which seems to be what nearly everyone has, there’s food available most of the day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are great, as is the buffet available between meals. It’s all fresh, warm, and tasty, with lots of choice, including plenty of vegetables and fruit. The Italian section is excellent too. I’m very pleasantly surprised and satisfied. The local Ariana beer is nice, the post-mix soda machines work well, and the alcoholic cocktails taste good and have a decent amount of alcohol, which I like. I’m really enjoying the stay and have no complaints. I’ll add an update when I get home. For now, it feels perfect. Thank you!
