The food that was served was tasty and well prepared, but that couldn't make up for how stressful our stay was at Djudjeva House. We were a group of about 20, including 8 children, staying three nights around New Year's, and often felt we had to fight for basic service. On the first night it was hard to get food for the children, and they stayed hungry until I asked Maria why nothing was being served. She dismissed the question and laughed sarcastically when I said we'd paid a significant amount for the meals. That was upsetting as a parent. Maria seemed uninterested in making us feel welcome from the start. She pointed vaguely toward the rooms instead of showing us where to go, and the ground-floor room we stayed in smelled strongly of mold. The service and attitude made the whole trip far from the relaxing holiday we'd hoped for. I wouldn't return, and would strongly advise families with small children against staying here. It wasn't worth the cost or frustration.

The breakfast was generous and lovely, and the Bulgarian house itself is beautiful and authentic, with a big yard and all the essentials. The spacious rooms were clean and well kept. A few small things could be better: the toilet roll holder was broken, the towels were tiny, and there were no mosquito nets on the windows. We also had to hunt around for the WiFi password and breakfast hours. That information should be easy to find in the room or on signs outside the closed reception. Communication could be better in general.

We chose this authentic place for a weekend in the area instead of staying in a regular hotel. The house was beautiful and very well looked after, and we slept better than we have in a while. Our room was spacious, with a modern bathroom that was nicely heated. Breakfast used fresh local ingredients, dinner was delicious, and the staff were lovely and accommodating. We can't wait to come back.

I stayed overnight because of a hospital visit. It was a delightful hotel with old-world character, and it was very quiet at that time of year. Maria took great care of me. When I asked her to call a taxi, she drove me to the hospital herself, which I really appreciated.

We booked the entire complex for my father's 50th birthday and came in the summer. The staff were friendly and respectful, and made the event and planned surprise go as smoothly as possible. The place is made up of beautiful old-style houses divided into separate rooms. I'd highly recommend it.
