Interhotel Pomorie Beach

The building's design and concept were great when the place was built about 30 years ago, and they still are. It's a shame to see how much the hotel has deteriorated, with little maintenance and service that seems to have declined over time. A lot of things feel like relics. The half-broken CRT TV needed a hit and a twist to turn on, some channels didn't work, and others were black and white. The shower broke while I was using it, though I assume they'll fix it. The trash can reminded me of the one in my childhood home, and my sister says that one is still around. They don't make them like that anymore, and its lasting quality suggests it wasn't regular plastic, perhaps rubber or special additives. I also found an old HP-Compaq PC, but it no longer works. There's WiFi only in the lobby, not the rooms. In the past you could use the HP Compaq PC, but that doesn't work now either. Most visitors go for procedures, but my Dad said the lugotherapy machine was broken one day and he couldn't go. The food situation was poor too. We had to queue for food, and the waiters weren't wearing gloves or masks. The Covid measures seemed more about saving money than preventing Covid, since they wouldn't let people pick up food. The menu was poorer than ever, mostly eggs and salad. They offered us one price, then raised it when we arrived. We had to escalate the issue to get them to honor the price they'd proposed. I wasn't pleased with the service overall. It's too bad a place with such a great concept has been left to deteriorate this much. I'm not sure I'll visit again.
