Villa Park Studio Enjoy

The apartment has an outdoor area with lots of seating, plus a ping pong table and a pool table. Inside, the rooms are clean, nice, and affordable, with a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Great location, about a 5/10 minute walk to the shops and cable car.

It's a quiet spot, which is nice, but getting to the village means a 10 minute uphill walk. At night the forest path lit with fairy lights looks and feels like Narnia. First impressions of the hotel are good. The rooms are tired and dated, though. The bedding barely fits and covers mattresses and pillows I wouldn't want to inspect too closely. There's an electric radiator mounted on the shower cubicle wall, which I couldn't believe. Maybe UK safety standards are too high for our own good, but electric cables in a shower don't seem ideal. The hot water seems to come from an immersion tank, and runs out if more than a couple of people shower within a few hours. The worst part was the heating panel above our bed and sofa bed. Whenever it heated up or cooled down, it made constant rapid clicking, like water torture. We ended up turning the temperature all the way up before going out for the evening, then switching it off when we got back to sleep. A few small changes could make this hotel much better, without costing a lot.

You can walk to the beginner piste in about 15 minutes, or reach the gondola after a 9-minute uphill walk. The place is average at best. There’s no pool, sauna, or other services, but it’s okay for the price.

It’s right by the ski slopes, so it’s definitely worth a visit.
