Hotel Andon Angelov

Take a room with a balcony if you can. The river is nearby, and with its sound, the birds singing and lots of tries, you'll sleep like a baby. The location is perfect, just 2 minutes from the city walking zone. I'd give it four stars because the air conditioner didn't work well. It would also be good to have liquid bath gel. Keep in mind there is no elevator, and the hotel has just 3 floors.

The staff were polite and attentive, and I have no complaint about their service. The rooms are simple but comfortable. Still, ours had a noticeable tobacco smell, which was disappointing. Breakfast was adequate but very basic and could be improved. The juice ran out and nobody replenished it, and its low quality added to the poor impression. The restaurant didn't feel well maintained, and cleanliness there left something to be desired. The style is very old, we're not in the 90s. The hotel is good and has great potential, but management should focus on cleanliness and a better breakfast instead of details like hanging flags of the USA and other countries to show their political view. Improving those things would make a big difference to guests.

The rooms smell bad, and the restaurant downstairs makes it noisy. The food there is a bad joke. Don't recommend it, better avoid it.

The place is right by a park and has parking, but it wasn't convenient for a stop while traveling since it's set back in the city, away from the road. I booked one night based on the ratings, which didn't seem genuine to me, and I wouldn't recommend it. The hotel is dated and badly looked after, and the inside doesn't match the photos anymore. Finishes were worn and cleanliness and hygiene were poor. The hair dryer was broken, the shower tap was coming away from the wall, the tub was blocked, and the fridge didn't cool. At breakfast, the tables hadn't been cleaned.
