Interhotel Sandanski

There’s a lake nearby and it’s nice for walks, with plenty of restaurants and bars close by too. The location is a real plus. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, though the gaming bar feels far too small for how many guests use it. The hotel dates from the '80s and probably felt top notch then, but now it shows wear and could use an overhaul. Facilities are okay, while the pools need improvement. It’s a good spot for a couple of days, though it isn’t cheap.

We’ve stayed here twice now and plan to keep coming back for years. The pool was spotless and comfortable, and the outdoor pool was just as inviting. Our room was very clean, with fresh towels and daily cleaning. The breakfast staff seemed a little nervous with so many guests, which we understand. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to returning next year.

The location is still great, but the service has fallen to its lowest point. When we raised concerns about the food, the staff responded unprofessionally. Dinner has very little variety and few choices without pork, and it’s disappointing that complimentary water, which used to be included, is no longer provided. For a 4-star price, the value just isn’t there. The SPA area feels neglected, the pool didn’t look clean during our stay, and the indoor-outdoor connection was closed. Changing rooms smelled unpleasant, and the pool area was often crowded and noisy, with staff who didn’t seem bothered. I’ve been coming for years, but the quality has declined significantly. There are better options nearby now, and this was my last visit.

The park adds a lot to the experience, and the hot springs feel completely real and are nicely done. I really like this place, even though it’s a bit old and outdated. It has an authentic feel. I’ve been here before and will definitely come back.
