Hotel Avenue

My stay was a nightmare, and I would strongly advise other travelers to avoid this hotel. I had booked a single room and planned to check in late in the afternoon after a long journey. I reached Shumen early in the morning exhausted, and because it was extremely hot outside, my two friends and I rested briefly in my room before going out to explore. We had no intention of having more than one person stay overnight. The owner arrived with an unknown man and banged on my door, demanding to come in. They entered in a fury without warning, explanation, or prior communication, apparently looking for something without a clear reason. They then called the police and wouldn’t have a civil conversation or hear our side. We were treated with hostility and disrespect, as though we were criminals. It felt like a serious invasion of our privacy and personal space, and left us humiliated and deeply insulted. In all my years of travel across more than 50 countries, I have never encountered this level of disrespect. The owner’s conduct was unprofessional and completely unjustified. I urge anyone considering this hotel to think twice. There are plenty of other places to stay in Shumen where guests can expect basic courtesy and respect. The management’s behavior was unacceptable and a disgrace. Avoid this hotel if you value your dignity and want a peaceful, respectful stay!
