Hotel Silistra

A clean hotel with good facilities and no issues. The location is convenient too. The reception is on the fifth floor, so take the elevator up.

The one real plus for me was how quiet it was. The location is excellent, and the building is still relatively new, dating from 2009, so I don't understand how the stay could be this disappointing. My family and I were there for a few days, but I never saw housekeeping clean the room or change the sheets and pillows. The bath accessories weren't replaced either. We had booked access to a balcony, but that didn't really work out. Staff were unfriendly, and it felt as if nobody cared about the guests. I'd only suggest this family hotel for a single night. Anyone staying longer could be disappointed.

There’s a piano bar below the hotel, and the noise carries up. On our second night, our floor had no heat. They gave us a portable heater for the night, and it was labeled, which made me think this must happen often. Our booked bedroom wasn't available on the second day, so we were moved to another room that smelled like an ashtray. We switched again, ending up in what I think was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Treat this as a last resort.

For a two-star hotel, it’s quite decent, and the woman at reception was wonderful. The reason I’m taking off two stars is the piano bar downstairs, whose music was insanely loud until four in the morning.
