Sinemoria Guest House

The location was good, but the price felt high for what we got. There was a strong toilet smell that spread into the kitchen and room unless the door was kept shut. Since there was no kitchen sink, we had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink, which felt pretty disgusting with that smell. I really don’t understand all the positive reviews. This was one of the worst places I’ve stayed.

The staff were friendly at check-in, but that didn’t make up for the state of the rooms we were given. The towels, bathrooms and dishes were unclean, there weren’t enough dishes, the fridges were broken, and the air conditioning hadn’t been maintained. In my opinion, hygiene was only 0.5/5. At these prices, these aren’t problems a vacation place should have in 2021. People want to come away with comfortable, pleasant memories. Don’t be fooled by the booking.com rating.

The host was friendly and the garden was nice, but everything else was disappointing. The room was noisy, with outside sounds coming through loudly. The fridge and TV didn’t work, and I couldn’t tell whether the bed sheets had been washed. Cleanliness seemed superficial. I’m not sure how this place got so many stars and good reviews. Maybe other guests have different standards, as seems to happen at plenty of well-reviewed places.

We’ll definitely come back next year. We stayed in two rooms, and both were cozy and each had its own character. The garden is amazing, and the location sits in a lovely spot between the main street, Veleka beack and "Koraba" bar, while still being on a quiet street. There can be groups of friends coming back from the bar around 2am, though. We visited in August, and it was so hot that we kept the windows closed and the AC on the whole stay. Easily the best guest house we’ve stayed in.
