We cared most about the rooms, and they were modern and spotless. They were cleaned daily, with amenities and water bottles replenished each day. The sea view from every room was extraordinary, and the beach is only a minute away. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I recommend Olive Villas! 🫒

The beach setup deserves special mention. At many Bulgarian beaches, whoever arrives first gets the best spot, so people get up at 6 to claim one with towels. Here the hotel has someone managing the beach area, so you can sleep in without ending up under an umbrella in the far back. The hotel is also only a few steps from the beach, which is clean, and there’s free parking, a spa that’s almost relaxing, and massages. We’re a family of four with kids aged 5.5 and 4, and we’re pleased with the stay and would return. The villas have plenty going for them: friendly staff who are always ready to help, good regular room cleaning, and a nice restaurant. The meals we ordered arrived quickly, were well prepared and tasty, with good choices like pizza, pasta, salads, fish, and grilled food. There were fresh fruits, vegan milk, and freshly made breakfast with traditional options. Some of the disappointment comes from the hotel’s five-star rating. People expect things like a piccolo, elevators, and indoor and outdoor pools, but the experience feels more like three or four stars. Rooms are a regular size, there’s no wardrobe, just a shelf and hangers that won’t fit a full-length dress or even a big shirt, and there’s no table to work at. The breakfast buffet selection can disappoint, and vegans may find it hard to choose a proper meal. The location is great, and we’d have fewer complaints about unmet expectations if the hotel lowered its rating to four stars.

The location and beach are beautiful, and the rooms are close to both the pool and beach. A couple of the good moments came from attentive staff, especially Tony at breakfast and the dinner team. But those positives don’t come close to justifying the price. The breakfast was only okay, not what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. There’s hardly any bedroom storage, and there’s no room service, which feels especially poor at this price. At the private beach, guests are meant to have a sunbed and are asked to reserve ahead. We did, but lost our booking after leaving the beds for just ten minutes past noon. Anyone from outside the hotel can use them, and it feels like maximizing profit matters more than good service. When we raised the issue, the staff weren’t very attentive. The beach bar played house music remixes from 8 in the morning. We were woken by it one day, and it made trying to rest and read difficult and tiring. I spent four nights here, and the rates felt unreasonable for the service and amenities.

The place and beach are nice, and the staff are kind, but they don’t seem trained for a luxury stay. For nearly €350 a night, I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was tiny, with nowhere to put a suitcase and no amenities such as slippers. Breakfast was below average, as was the restaurant staff. Even the beach sunbeds and tables were dirty, which I wouldn’t expect for that price. It felt like paying a five-star rate for a three-star experience.

I’m starting to stay elsewhere more often, though I do like the location. The beach waiters are great, but that doesn’t help much when you arrive to find all your bookings wrong. The hostess handling sunbed reservations was rude and couldn’t deal with customers professionally. She also showed no understanding of customer service or responsibility when mistakes happen.
