Aqua Nevis Hotel

The staff really made this trip for us. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, especially Nik, Ven, and Niki at the sports bar. Niki also works in the lobby bar. Those three made the holiday memorable for us. We stayed at Aqua Nevis for a week, from the 19th to the 26th of September 2025. We booked a larger pool view room with a bedroom and ensuite, plus a living area and another bathroom. It was clean, with plenty of storage and a wardrobe in each area. There were tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge in the bedroom. Cleaners came daily, though they didn't mop our balcony during the week. It was twice the size of a standard balcony, but cigarette ash and butts from balconies above sometimes landed there. We're smokers too, but we keep our balcony clean, so that was annoying. The restaurant was tidy, with staff clearing tables and floors quickly, and there was outdoor seating too. I often struggle to find holiday food that doesn't upset my stomach, especially with some spices, but I enjoyed everything I ate here. The pool bar also serves food, which was very good. Around the pool there were plenty of sunbeds and a little shop selling ice cream, inflatables, balls, and other bits. The area and loungers were jet washed each morning. The pool itself was nice, but the water was freezing. I don't know if it's like that in peak summer. The sports bar works for both adults and kids. You can sit by the football pitch and watch the kids play, catch sports on TV, or use the table tennis, darts, pool tables, and crazy golf. The lobby bar has lots of seating, including big U shaped seats, and snacks like cakes on a counter at the far end. We enjoyed the aqua park too. It was much bigger than I expected, with loads of slides for the family and areas for little kids. The lazy river was a highlight for us. Since it was late in the season, the food shops in the park were shut. You can't bring food in, and security checks bags at the entrance for things that aren't allowed. There's a free bus to flower street. It starts in the morning and, if I remember right, the last one is around 5pm. I can't recall the exact timetable, but buses run fairly regularly and the ride takes about five minutes. The driver has an hour lunch break, so there's no bus during that time. Reception has the schedule. All in all, we had a great holiday and would book again.

The all inclusive was worth it, with good breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices, plus a pool snack bar and lots of alcoholic drinks and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic options and mocktails. Staff were friendly, helpful, and knew their stuff throughout our stay. There's free entry to the action waterpark, with things for kids of all ages and adults. The free shuttle gets you to town, about 10 minutes from the beach, and runs often enough. Great stay at aqua nevis, would definitely come back.

The hotel seems clean and the facilities look good, but after the first day I was already disappointed. Check-in took 90 minutes in a queue, handled by a rude staff member who was alone at reception while busloads of guests arrived. Every family seemed to take ages to get through. The food so far has been shockingly bad, like regurgitated slop. This was my first time at sunny beach, so I can't compare it with other places, but after just one day I'm pretty sure I won't return. Given the cost and the reviews I'd read, it's a letdown. This place doesn't deserve them.

The pool setup worked well for us. There were always sunbeds available, likely because the water park is attached, and no need to reserve one. Towels were free with cards from the spa area, available from 9 till 12 and returned between 4 and 6. We used them on a few days. Our girl spent time in the two kids splash pools with water toys. The main pool is deeper, has a mini spa section, and is where most activities happen. Jumping and diving are strictly forbidden, and lifeguards keep watch and speak to families if children keep jumping in. The maintenance team works hard to keep the pool area tidy. Our family of three had a spacious pool view room, comfy beds, a great walk in shower, and daily cleaning. The cleaners work hard all over the hotel, from reception and bar areas to the kitchen and restaurant tables. There was a payable safe in the room, which was easy to use. Food and drinks had a lot of choice: Mexican and Italian nights, soups, salads, chicken, beef, and vegetarian dishes, which I tried a few times. There was always room to sit. The snack bar did burgers and chips, and food and drinks were served by staff, which helped keep everything clean and tidy. The a la carte meal was a nice change, though it was closed on Sundays when I posted this. Our little girl, who has struggled to eat at other hotels, ate much better here. There's a kids corner and ice cream at lunch and tea. The animation team kept busy with zumba, stretching, darts, aqua fit, and more. Our girl was too shy to join the mini disco much, since it takes place on the stage. We didn't use the kids club, but she did some paid activities by the pool on a couple of days. The shows were hit and miss. One night we went out to sunny beach instead of watching something we weren't interested in, but overall it was fun and you make of it what you want. There were dance shows and singers, plus karaoke at the sports bar. It also has mini golf and a games room, which can be pricey. I just wish there were little evening snacks like popcorn or candy floss for sale. You can get crisps and chocolate from behind the lobby bar, though they're a bit pricey, or bring your own snacks to the entertainment. The water park is open daily from 10-6. We went five times during our seven days, for 3-4 hours each time, which was plenty. Food and drinks aren't included, but you can buy food and take drinks in from the hotel. Lots of people had Stanley cups or drink holders. It's a large park with two children's areas for kids with a yellow band or no band. Children with blue bands are asked to leave those areas, which I think is fair. A child with a yellow band can use slides with someone wearing a blue band. Our girl went on the five slides she was allowed on, and the lifeguard blew a whistle as riders came down to help at the bottom if needed. Some guards can seem rude, but I think they're just doing their job to keep everyone safe. The pools and foam party were great, and there were lots of sunbeds again. The free shuttle was handy for getting back from Flower street. We also booked a taxi through the hotel one day, which was easy. Bus number 2 to Nessebar stops opposite the water park entrance, and it was easy and timely for a morning trip to the Old town. You can take a water taxi, but have to get back from the beach, so the bus worked much better for us. Aqua Nevis was a nice base for seeing some of Bulgaria. It was one of the best hotels we've stayed in over the past three years, small and easy to get around, clean, tidy, and family friendly. From the welcome at reception to our last day having fun in the pool, we had a great time. I'd return and recommend it to other families, and hope to be back in years to come.
