Best Western Plus Premium Inn

We stayed for two weeks, and the place was a major disappointment. The only staff member who stood out in a good way was a young, short-haired waiter who was genuinely kind and professional. Breakfast was fine, but service elsewhere was mostly poor, and the restaurant experience was a mess. One woman in the restaurant judged our food choices and was extremely rude. Reception said the restaurant was open, even though the waitress told us it was closed once we sat down. At dinner, we asked for Caesar dressing on three different nights and got mayonnaise twice. The menu seemed to shrink each day, and my carbonara arrived in a plastic container, clearly microwaved. An older evening waitress was passive-aggressive and interrupted us while we were eating to ask if we were paying by card. Drinks had odd bits floating in the Fanta and Sprite, the mayonnaise tasted like nothing, and sometimes there was no ketchup at breakfast. Housekeeping barely happened. We left the cleaning sign out, but all we got was a few towels, with no room cleaning. The bed was okay, though the sheet was too small and kept coming off. The air conditioning heated the room instead of cooling it, there were no toiletries apart from a tiny liquid soap dispenser, and the hotel had no extra blanket when we asked. There were problems all over the place: switches turned on several lamps at once, mosquitoes still got through the net, the TV looked ancient, the safe didn’t work, the bidet hose was broken, and the elevators kept malfunctioning. In the lobby restroom the light switched off every 20 seconds, so you had to wave your arms to keep it on. Opening our window also let cigarette smoke in from people on the balconies below. The hotel might have potential, but management felt chaotic and most staff seemed to need proper training. Between the unreliable service and all the problems, our stay was a disaster.

What may once have been a good hotel now feels like an unpleasant tourist trap built to take your money. The dining room can’t seat everyone at once, so guests are asked to come back later. Dinner is included, but drinks aren’t, not even water. Our room wasn’t cleaned regularly, and we had to argue to get the sheets changed more often than once every four days. The happy hour deals were misleading too. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially with much better options in the area.

I’m here for ten nights and just want to get on the plane home. It keeps raining, and I can’t even find milk nearby for a coffee because the supermarkets are closing down. The beach is filthy, and food and drinks are overpriced. I’m tired of asking the bar for a jug of milk every day. The pool bar plays music to itself, and there are hardly any English TV channels. Having to pay 100 levs at check-in to cover damages felt excessive. The food is good, but it all arrives at once, which makes you feel rushed and leaves you eating the hot dishes first. The place is far from Sunny Beach, though it’s near the bus station if you want a change of scenery. Don’t come here in October.

The meals were good, and with all-inclusive, the bar and snacks were great. The location is also very good, and the staff were kind and helpful. Special thanks to DIMITAR, who was professional from the start and even contacted me on WhatsApp before we arrived to check we had everything we needed. He speaks Hebrew perfectly, which was a big help, and was always smiling and ready to assist.
