The hotel apartments have a much nicer pool area and seem far better than these rooms. Here, the rooms were seriously below standard and, sorry, dirty. The website photos don't match what you actually get. They charge 80 lev a night, about £40, so calling it cheap and cheerful doesn't make sense. Not a good choice. You've been warned.

The room had no kitchen table, and the chair and couches were old and smelly. There weren't even cabinets for four people or a proper place to lie down. The lighting was poor, and the TV looked about 20 years old. Wi-Fi kept dropping, and one device cost 24 lev for 24 hours.

There was nobody at reception when we arrived after 7pm, so I had to phone her. The bedding was never changed and we got no clean towels. On our last day there was nowhere to change, and she wanted £40 to let us keep the room for half a day. I wouldn't stay with her again.

The apartments are nice, but the restaurant could do with improvement.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and everything was nice and clean.
