Astor Garden Hotel

The warm indoor and outdoor pools were a real plus, and we’d definitely recommend the hotel. We’ve just returned from our holiday, and the service was fantastic. The staff were so friendly, and the food was generous and varied. Our only disappointment was the room, which was on the ground floor facing the car park. The hotel was almost empty since we were there out of season, but when we asked for a sea-view room, they said those rooms only had two beds and there were three of us. We asked if they could add a folding bed and were told no. We would have been willing to pay extra if they’d asked.

The restaurants served tasty food with excellent service, though they were a bit expensive. Our room was clean, modern, and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A perfect place for a relaxing autumn getaway. We’ll definitely come back.

The lobby looked great, and having access to Aqua House spa facilities was a nice benefit, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The thin walls meant we could hear the TV in the next room. When we asked to move, reception said no rooms were ready, even though it was late September and the hotel looked only 25-30% full. The noise continued, and we were told we were “unlikely to sleep at that time anyway.” It was 6pm, and we’d gone to bed at 5am that day. The reception staff were very rude, making this one of my worst hotel experiences. The A/C was loud and woke us when it switched on at night. The bathroom door lock was broken and could only be locked from inside. The mini-bar hinge was loose, so the door wouldn’t close properly. They fixed both when we asked, but I wouldn’t expect these issues in a 5-star hotel. This was a disappointing stay for the money.

The spa team made my stay at Astor Garden Hotel extra special. Nina gave me a body wrap and massage, and she was skilled, attentive, and professional. I felt completely relaxed. I also had a facial with another lovely woman, and that was excellent too. My skin felt fresh, glowing, and well cared for. Both treatments were delivered with so much kindness. I’d highly recommend the spa services to anyone visiting the hotel.
