Holiday Apartment in Riviera Complex

I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you really want to ruin your vacation. I’ve added a few pool photos so you can compare what it’s actually like with the pictures on the website, booking listing, and elsewhere.

The accommodation itself was quite clean and well kept. The cleaning lady was a sweetheart and tried to come by every day, but because we got up late and had an odd schedule, we almost never let her in :)) She was 10 out of 10 for both her vibe and her work. Having accommodation in a courtyard behind a barrier, with a remote control, was a plus. The resort was the part we really liked. We’ve spent many years visiting Bulgaria, including Obzor, Sunny Beach, and Kavarna, and walking around Nessebar, Burgas, and other places. We have enough to compare. Sveti Vlas is probably the most beautiful Bulgarian resort we’ve seen. It’s clean, people are nice and civilized, and there are lots of restaurants and clubs and at least decent shops. We recommend it from all points of view. To me, it’s the most charming Bulgarian resort we’ve visited. But I’d never return to this accommodation. The pool ruined our vacation and other guests’ too, especially those who may have only been there for a few days. Its filter system broke, so for about half the vacation, around a week and maybe closer to 8 or 9 days, there was no usable pool, even though we’d paid for accommodation with one. Worse, nobody posted a notice or told us anything. For days, we and other customers swam in water that looked like a delta, green, stagnant, opaque, and with a particular smell. I found it very condemnable that the managers didn’t put up a notice or tell anyone. They seemed to assume the water level was low and that it was fine if customers noticed, and bad luck if they didn’t. The restaurant was decent, but no more than that, and there are much better options nearby. Prices are high and portions small, though service was decent. I have almost nothing to complain about on service, perhaps 6-7 out of 10.

It was okay, but the burgers were just regular burgers, nothing special, and could use some sauce. The pasta was well made, the soup was tasty, and the grill was good too. The fresh fries were nice but very expensive. Service was good and funny, and they understood English.

The food was okay, though the service was a bit slow and there wasn’t much atmosphere.
