Menada Dolce Vita 2 Apartments

The sea and courtyard views from our apartment were lovely, and it was in very good condition. We even had our own carport, which feels unusual for the area. What won me over most was being so close to the fine sandy beach, with its restaurants, bars, friendly staff and things for children to do. The palms and olive trees in the courtyard add a Mediterranean feel, and the pool looks out across the Black Sea. Dolce Vita 2 is definitely the best apartment hotel in Sveti Vlas for me. See you again, Dolce Vita.

The one thing they got right was honoring our request not to enter the apartment without permission. We rented a privately owned place for a week during the Covid-19 summer, and the complex handled cleaning and repairs. Before we arrived, I asked them not to clean while we were there, but I hadn't realized how dirty and dusty the rooms were to start with. I brought cleaning supplies and had to clean everything on day one, which I hadn't expected. The toilet button was broken too. I called reception, and after three days of different people coming in to look at the missing button, they said they couldn't fix it. We had to put up with it for the rest of our stay. The bedroom air-conditioning also wasn't working at first, though the guys managed to sort it out. The whole complex is uphill, so be ready for a lot of climbing on the way to and from the beach. I don't think those hills would be manageable for an older person or someone with physical difficulties.

Parking is the biggest problem here, with too few spaces. The aparthotel itself is modern and has a very pretty pool, though the water is quite cold since it isn't heated.

The scenery is lovely, and there's a decent beach nearby. There are a couple of small pools for the apartments, and they don't seem to get very busy. Most of the units I could see had air-conditioning, which is a real help in hot weather. At Dolce Vita 1, some parts look a bit worn, and the furniture is low quality, though it does the job. The hills, steps and slopes make this a poor choice for anyone who struggles with them.
