St George Palace - All Inclusive

The staff were warm and attentive, always ready to help with a smile, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. We also enjoyed fresh, varied breakfasts, with restaurants and shops nearby for convenience. The hotel feels modern, and its peaceful spot is just a short walk from the beach. The spacious, well-kept pool was a lovely place to unwind after time in the sun. A great coastal getaway, and I'd happily come back.

The restaurant food was delicious, and the clean, spacious rooms had everything we needed. We felt at home thanks to the hotel staff, and the location worked perfectly for sightseeing. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

We were left waiting far longer than expected on arrival. We got there at noon and were told our room wouldn't be ready until 2. There was no changing room, so people changed in the toilets just to get to the pool and have something to do while waiting. We weren't allowed to consume anything before check-in, leaving us sitting around hoping our phone batteries would last. At 2:30, after an argument involving another family who'd also waited for hours with a small child, we finally got our room. I liked the room itself, and it was pleasant and cosy, though two of its four doors wouldn't close properly. The TV had a flat screen, but it was tiny. The hotel looks nice, but keep in mind it's quite different from the pictures. There also weren't enough umbrellas by the pool. I'm not completely sure about the location since it was our first time in St. Vlas, but it seemed probably fine. The food was the biggest letdown. It was extremely repetitive and boring, with about 80% of it repeated at every meal and just a few different dishes. I've stayed in other 3-star hotels with much better food. A strange drinks policy added to the frustration: beer came in large glasses, while water was served in tiny ones. If you don't drink alcohol, you get a little glass that lasts one sip, so you're back and forth all day refilling it like a waiter. Plain soda wasn't available at breakfast if you were watching your sugar; it was kept behind the bar, which didn't open until 11. The same tiny glasses were used for water and soda, even though beer was cheaper than either. It felt ridiculous. A lot of the staff seemed to be around 18. When we complained, they'd shrug and send us to the “boss.” The staff are the link between the boss and the guests, and they should pass on the problems instead of just redirecting people. Despite the hotel's good points, I wouldn't return because of the absurd drinks policy and the boring, repetitive, often tasteless food.
