The Poolhouse

The card machine wasn’t working, so I had to pay extra to get more cash from an ATM. There was no coffee, though that’s pretty typical and I usually bring my own. The herbal tea was good, and the toiletries were great. The pool was a nice place to cool off, and the main beach is five minutes away. I’d definitely come back. The room looked just like the pictures, with a good size, plenty of privacy, and a garden. Although it’s near a road, I didn’t hear it from inside. I hadn’t realized I needed to check in at the store, but once I got there someone showed me to the cool room, which was decorated and furnished with taste. The terrace had chairs and a table, and the staff were friendly. They showed me the fridge and how to use the air conditioning and TV. The air conditioning worked well, and the rain shower was really nice. There’s a bus stop right outside for Nessebar or the other direction.

The beach is easy to reach on foot, and the pool was clean and nice too. We had a cozy, clean room in this small place, with friendly staff and air conditioning that worked perfectly. I’d really recommend staying here.

The place has potential and isn’t bad, but we won’t stay here again. There’s no reception, and nobody greeted or hosted us. We wandered around until we figured out that we had to ask the owners for a key in the grocery store on the property. Leaving was much the same, with nobody to say goodbye, and during the stay we had to chase them to pay for the accommodation. We knew from our Booking reservation that payment had to be in cash, though its rating of over 9 felt misleading. They didn’t give us the legally required cash receipt. When we asked, the woman was rude and said they had a register for the grocery store, but not the hotel, and that we’d have to go to another hotel of theirs in town for a receipt. When I insisted, she lost her temper. Her husband calmed her down and said they would take the money from our Booking reservation. The listing says there’s free parking on site, but that isn’t true. They direct you to a dusty field nearby, reached by a dirty road.

I had a great holiday here. The garden was lovely, the pool was big, and everything was clean. The staff were very friendly, and there’s a supermarket nearby. I’ll come back!
