Boutique SPA Hotel Orchidea

The physiotherapists were a real surprise, I tried two of the three and thought they were amazing. The indoor and outdoor pools were clean, and the location was very quiet, though hard to get around on foot. Rooms were clean but the interior felt poorly done. The restaurant's choices were repetitive, with the same breakfast options six days running. I also found mould on bread, which made me question the food quality overall. Reception staff seemed inexperienced and unqualified. We needed a document printed and faxed, but couldn't get either service. It's a nice hotel in general, but there are quite a few things that need improvement.

The food was tasty, with a different selection each day, plenty to choose from, plus desserts and fruit. Staff were friendly, positive and helpful; some spoke three or four languages. Our room was spacious, with a big bed, a large balcony and a nice view. The bathroom was huge, with a shower and bathtub, and was clean, though there was a cockroach that the janitor left behind instead of removing. The sheets and towels had stains, and the table was still sticky from the previous guests. I loved the hotel's style. The lobby was clean and spacious, just like the photos, and the panoramic elevator was cool. The rooftop bar was inexpensive, the drinks were great and the view amazing. The pool wasn't as clean as we expected. It's a 25-minute walk or five-minute drive to the centre, and five to ten minutes from the nearest beach.

The food was varied and delicious, and the staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and well-mannered. I really enjoyed staying at Orchidea. The air conditioning had a small issue for a couple of days, but they fixed it pretty quickly. An outdoor children's corner would be a good addition. Otherwise, everything was pretty good.

The spa was wonderful, with different massages and saunas on offer. I had a relaxing stay, the room was excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful. The pool is large and gets plenty of afternoon sun. Golden Sands is a 15-minute walk away, or you can use the hotel's beach transfer, which runs hourly and brings guests back from the beach pickup point.
