X Hostel Varna

The beach and shops are nearby, and there are two bus stops close by. The hostel feels authentic and cozy, and together with the lovely botanical garden it has a real home-like feel. Be warned, you might not want to leave. And the cats are adorable! It’s also a great place to spend time outside and meet people. The owner is a great cook and likes to grill delicious traditional dinners for anyone who wants to join. There’s lots of fresh food, including vegetables, fish from the Black sea, and meat, depending on what’s in season. The communal dinners are joyful.

There’s room to relax on your own or with others, and the staff are great. You get all that for a very modest price, with free parking and a corner shop five minutes away. The beach is a fifteen-minute walk. Drinks and tasty grilled food are available every night. The garden is lovely, though honestly it’s more of a jungle. Highly recommended.

If you want a peaceful, laid-back holiday a little outside the city center, this is the hostel for you. The lovely garden is a good place to meet interesting travelers, and there’s always someone around to talk to.

This is my second time here, and it feels like home. Such a beautiful place, in a great location, with a really warm welcome. 10/10.
