Semiramis Hotel by OYO Rooms

The owner or manager let us in after everything that happened, and I appreciate that. But the receptionist was awful and didn’t even offer a hand with check-in. We had booked and paid through the Almosafer app, but on arrival found the booking had been canceled. The receptionist insisted we either cancel it or report it to the police.

There’s free parking outside, plus nearby food options and a 24-hour restaurant. The location is good and the rooms are okay, though the furniture is a little old. They charged an extra amount as tax at reception during check-in. The lifts are very old and overdue for a full refurbishment.

The hotel itself is average, but the location is excellent.

Think twice before booking. AHMED at reception was extremely rude. He mistook me for a visitor and shouted at me to wait in the visitor lounge, even though I was a hotel guest and asked him to check his records. He kept yelling in front of other people instead of listening. I explained that the person with us was the visitor, just dropping us off before returning to KSA, and asked why he couldn’t have spoken to me politely. He blamed me and changed the subject. He clearly doesn’t understand guest relations or customer service. A receptionist should be welcoming and treat guests with respect and courtesy.
