Urban Suites Cotonou

We struggled to find Urban Suites at first. Our taxi driver couldn’t easily locate it, and I think a pickup service would help, perhaps free within a certain radius and charged beyond that. Getting around Cotonou isn’t easy. Still, I’d stay here again on my next visit. My husband and I came to Cotonou, Benin for the winter holidays in Dec 2016 to visit family. It was my first visit, and the heat and humidity were brutal. I couldn’t handle staying somewhere without AC, and we’d had trouble finding hotels that met our American standards before discovering Urban Suites. It felt like an oasis on a residential street, and it was centrally located. I loved the design as someone who’s into interior decorating. The rooms were beautiful, intimate, and high-end, and some had kitchenettes, which let us cook now and then. Wi-Fi, cable, and breakfast were included, with access to the bar and pool as well. Breakfast could be brought to the room or served at the bar, and there was a generous, appetizing spread with the option to customize an order. The Wi-Fi worked reliably, and the front desk helped with our requests. Some things, like ordering food or cooking seasoning, cost extra.

A lovely boutique hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a pool and a small gym. My room had a king bed, a nice bathroom, and a kitchenette. Amazing!
