The staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant had a decent range of good food. There are two bars, including one with a view over the whole beach. I enjoyed unwinding by the pool and on the beach, and the hotel can arrange guides for local tours. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

It's easy to find, quiet, and right by the beach, so the views are great. I wasn't happy with the food, though, and couldn't get the local dishes I was looking for. They should take another look at the restaurant.

Hotel Awale Plage has become a familiar place for me; this was my third visit. It doesn't try to impress, but its simple, laid-back beachfront feel is comfortable enough that I keep returning. There were a few small amenity upgrades this time, so they are making some effort, even if progress is slow. The meals still aren't very good, and I'd probably eat somewhere else. I was also disappointed by one staff member's unprofessional, unnecessarily saucy attitude. That left a bad impression on an otherwise decent stay. It's a modest place with some rough edges, but it feels a bit like home. If you're after basic comfort and an easygoing beach atmosphere, it does the job.
