Hotel Aranjuez Cochabamba

The gardens and little swimming pool make it easy to relax here, and inside there’s plenty of polished wood. It’s a beautiful hotel, peaceful even though it’s right in the middle of Cochabamba. The staff are warm and welcoming, too.

The courtyard under those huge trees was a lovely spot for breakfast, with birds all around. The rooms are comfortable, even if they aren’t modern, which makes sense in an old house. José, the manager, knows a lot, cares about the environment, and is a keen cyclist. I love Cochabamba, and finding this beautiful family estate, kept by the same family for generations, was a treat. It felt much classier and more personal than staying in a sterile hotel.

I’ve stayed here three times now, and it’s been great every visit. The staff are comforting, breakfast is nice, and the place is quiet and well located.

We came back twice and stayed several nights each time. The staff made us feel at home, even taking care of our laundry. Our spacious room was great for sleeping, with a firm, comfortable bed, and the included breakfast had all we needed, with fresh baked goods, eggs, and more. The location is first rate, across from the elegant gardens of the Palacio Portales and a short walk to the restaurants on boulevard row and the largest grocery store we found in Bolivia. This place was our home in Bolivia. Love it!
